Support our ground-breaking research
About 1 in 4 people suffer from a brain disorder: diseases in which brain cells lose their function and die (for example, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis), and also mental disorders (for example, depression or schizophrenia). Our mission is to provide brain tissue to researchers that work to understand how the brain works and what goes wrong in brain disorders. As a small organization, we are able to concentrate on new, innovative techniques and work with minimal overhead.
Our work is currently funded by private donations, some quite substantial, some small. Our sponsors do not control or influence the research we do. All our research is in public interest and we are a non-profit organization. Our results and the materials we collect are not and will not be commercialized in any fashion.
At the moment we receive no public (governmental) funding. Indeed, there is very little public funding for fundamental work needed to support other researchers.
